Easy as Pie has a forum, now. I've gotten so many questions and recipes over email from you all that really seem worth sharing. So if you have a question or a great idea to share, come on over to the Easy as Pie Message Board.
To celebrate fall and the new forum, I will be randomly picking one of the people who posts between now and October 20 to receive a case of canned pumpkin. Every post gets an entry Hey, this stuff is like gold, folks. Only tastier. ;)
Kelly, Natalie, Marya, and Veronica are our winners!
Thanks for participating, everyone. I hope you're back in the swing of things at school/work/whatever you do during the fall and enjoying it.
Coming up next, my pumpkin risotto recipe. I'm not kidding, I've made this four times in the last week, but it keeps getting eaten before I have a chance to take a photo. That has happened with other recipes, but I think four times in a row is a record. I'm going to make a special batch just for you guys so I can post it on the blog. My husband doesn't get to eat ANY until the photo is posted, I promise.
The winner of last week's houndstooth lunchbox giveaway is Olive, who signed up for the Easy as Pie mailing list on Friday. Congratulations, Olive!
And now for the final lunchbox giveaway show! Drumroll?
This week, I am giving away not one, not two, but FOUR lunchboxes. Introducing the Munchler lunchboxes.
Don't you just want to snuggle them and take them home with you? (Except maybe the tiger. He looks a little grumpy for snuggling.) Click here for a shot of them in action.
This is going to be the easiest contest ever. Just leave a comment on this post. About anything. Yep, you could comment about your grandma's tea cozy and win. Four people will wine one lunchbox each. This contest ends Sunday, September 27 at midnight Pacific time. Winners announced Sept 29.
Congratulations to Krista Davis Gut, the winner of the bento lunchbox in last week's contest! Krista, please email me your address so I can ship it to you.
And now on to what I think is the most exciting giveaway so far this month. Grown-ups have food allergies and intolerances, too, so I thought it was time to give away a grown-up lunch bag.
Three cheers for this classy houndstooth lunch bag! I've got to say, I almost decided to keep this one instead of giving it away. That's me in the picture agonizing, "keep it or give it away???" (I cut my face out so you can't see my pained look of indecision.)
There are two ways to enter the contest this time:
1. Leave a comment to this post that mentions what foods you are trying to avoid.
or
2. Become a new member of the Easy as Pie email list by entering your email address below.
Last week "momjoy" won the Chinese-takeout style lunchbox. This week, I'm giving away a bento-style lunchbox. It eliminates the need for baggies and other disposable containers, so it's very eco-friendly. Also, if you're concerned about portion size, it automatically limits what you pack to what you can fit in it's cute little cubes. It comes complete with a water bottle, utensils, and an insulated carrying case with a strap.
All you have to do to enter is comment on this post by midnight on Sunday, September 13, Pacific Daylight Time. Your comment needs to be some kind of description of your favorite allergy-friendly food. The winner will be announced September 15.
Here's what it looks like all packed up.
